Think it’s impossible to increase energy efficiency in the winter when the heat is running? Think again! There are a lot of easy ways to get more for your money when it comes to your heating system, and zoning is one of them. Will it benefit your home? Let’s take a look.
When you add zoning to your heating system, you’re adding flexibility and the ability to customize your comfort. Zoning breaks your home up into different areas, or zones, that you can control separately. You gain control of each individual room or area instead of having generalized heat for the whole house.
Because zoning allows you to control the different areas in your home, you can adjust the temperature up or down based on comfort preferences and use. If you’re not using the back of the house because the kids are away at college until Christmas break, you can lower the temperature in that area, which will save you money.
The same goes for your comfort preferences in different areas. If you like to be cooler at night, you can lower the temperature in your bedroom without affecting the rest of the house. This saves you money and energy because you’re not needlessly heating areas that don’t need it.
Zoning not only allows you to create comfortable and customizable zones in your home, but it also will result in energy savings over time as you stop heating areas that you don’t use and focus that heat where you want it.
My gas package system died on me this past February. I contacted All City Heat and Air for an estimate. The dispatcher was very nice and promptly scheduled an estimate the same day. The installation crew that came out (the next day after I had received the estimate!) was extremely polite and made sure to thoroughly clean up after they were finished.
I am glad that I stuck with this company (my friend had referred me since she had some work done by both Jeff and Ernie) because I feel that I would have been paying a lot more for a lot less with any of the other companies.
Jeff came out after the install was complete and took the time to answer my questions about operating the new thermostat and how to change my air filters, as well as giving me information on how to maintain my unit. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I would recommend to anyone!
