Meet the Owners

Why did you get into the HVAC industry? I was looking for a way to show off my skills in fixing things. From a young age, I always tore stuff apart to find out how it worked, and then, put it back together. I worked at an HVAC equipment distributor as a warehouse manager. After handling all of the equipment and delivering them to job sites, I decided to join All City as an installer and service technician.

What do you like best about the HVAC business? I really enjoy learning about the technical trades involved in everyday homes. As an HVAC professional, I am basically a hybrid plumber and electrician. I get exposed to so many situations in HVAC that it is always challenging and never mundane. Turning unhappy faces into happy faces is a plus, too.

How long have you been in the HVAC industry I worked on the distribution side of HVAC for three years before joining All City in 1999. By 2003, I was included in everyday management, and when Gene Poplin retired in 2005, I, along with longtime colleague, Ernie Brummitt, took over day-to-day operations.

What activities, hobbies, or other interests do you have? Too many to list, so I will keep it short: scuba diving, NFL football, hiking, camping, playing softball, and playing with my dog, Boss the Super Pug.

Do you live in the area? Do you have family/kids/pets? I moved from Lancaster, PA to Charlotte in 1995. 2015 will make it 20 years that I have lived in the South. As long as Charlotte, doesn't run out of sweet tea and the friendliest people on Earth, Charlotte will be my home forever. I am newly married to my best friend, Stephani. We have two dogs, Boss and Buddy.

Repair technician inspected newly installed thermostat, found installation error, and repaired. He then inspected the air handler and outside compressor. Discovered freon was leaking, topped off freon to hold me over, and made recommendations for future repairs and upgrades.

Response time was great - next day service, on a Saturday. Service fee was very reasonable, and the technician was polite, professional, and informative.
